Greetings to all in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ! In an effort to provide more content while also relieving your email inboxes of the bulk, we thought we'd post our 2005 family Christmas letter here on our web page and just send you all a link to it. Please click on the pictures you find here to see a larger size. When you're finished, feel free to click on the above button labeled "T-A Miller Home" in order to see the rest of our website. We hope you're having a wonderful Christmas season and enjoy your stay with us at our web home.
We
pray that the Lord has blessed you & your loved ones this past year.
2005 has been a year of blessings and challenges for the Miller
household. Andrea was blessed
by being able to attend our church's Women's Retreat this spring.
She also has enjoyed both on-line and group classes in a program called
"The Lord's Table" which teaches Biblical principals for overcoming
weight problems. She has also begun
attending the church's Home School Mom's group this fall.
Andrea and Daniel had a difficult adjustment to make when one of her
dearest friends, Lisa Williamson moved to Utah.
The Williamsons are Daniel's godparents, and for the past 3 years Daniel
had “play days” together with her two girls.
Andrea's family was hit hard this year with tragedies. Her parents and sister were displaced from their home for several months due to a fire that destroyed the garage and caused smoke damage throughout the rest of the house. Her parents moved back in late summer.
Her Aunt
Mary from Evansville (the oldest of her father's 4 sister's) went to be with the
Lord at the end of August. Andrea’s
sister, Kathy, has been ill and in need of surgery due to a severely infected
gallbladder. But the biggest blow
this year has been the sudden, unexpected death of her mother Vivian on Nov. 21.
She suffered a massive cerebral hemorrhage that took her quickly.
The memorial service was the Saturday after Thanksgiving.
It has seemed surreal to Andrea, her father, and sister.
They know she is with the Lord, but her sudden absence has been very
painful. The prayers and help of
many close friends over the past few weeks have meant so much. Many of you may remember the severe eye infection Tim suffered last year. He was able to return to work the first of the year, but the infection left a scar, which rendered his right eye almost completely blind. He had corneal replacement surgery in Nov. and is recovering well. We won't know for a while how much his vision will improve, but any improvement is good! For those of you with strong stomach’s you can see pictures of it on our website here. He spent a good part of the summer finishing a large gate with an arbor entrance to the back yard at the end of our driveway (click here to see the whole project). He also had to fix a leaky toilet in the master bathroom, but when he removed the flooring he discovered extensive damage to the flooring and the ceiling in the kitchen below which was covered with mold! He continues to teach a Home Fellowship through our church on Friday nights. This summer we finished up a two-year study on the book of Revelation, and are now doing a series on Creation vs. Evolution. After that we will be diving into Genesis. Due
to the family issues this fall, he had to decline teaching at the Calvary Chapel
Bible College next semester, but hopes to return to teaching there again next
year. Daniel had his first vacation when we went to the Outer Banks, NC. We went with all of Tim's family, and stayed in a huge 3 story, 6-bedroom house right on the beach. We had our own private pool and boardwalk over the sand dune to the beachfront. There were 15 people there for the week! Afterward, Tim, Andrea, and Daniel drove up to Annapolis, MD for a couple days ... and then stopped in Lexington, KY on our way home to visit Andrea's Aunt & Uncle. Daniel was never once homesick and even cried when we told him we were on the way back home. He had a ball!
In October we stayed at a resort area in
a large log cabin with Tim's family again in Pigeon Forge, TN for his
stepbrother Chad's wedding. It was a beautiful wedding, and of course the mountains
were awesome in the fall. Daniel has been growing like a weed. He loved the vacations, with the beaches, mountains, private pool, and hot tubs. He still talks about the “Beach House” and the “Mountain House” constantly. He has play days most every week with his step-cousins. He adopted the Williamsons’ pet fish "Fishy” & “Petey" when they moved to Utah. He just got another one he is calling "Blacky". His fads for now are: Batman and
of course, the ever-popular Darth Vader! He had loads of fun hiking, picking pumpkins, and playing in the leaves this fall, and
will be having his first dentist appointment just before Christmas.
We can't believe he's already turning 4 years old!
He’s having a pirate themed birthday party this year – Captain Daring
Daniel!
Remember to keep “Christ” in “Christmas”, as we celebrate His birth. We pray God will continue to richly bless each of you this coming year.
Have a very Merry Christmas!
